GNDU Senators hold first meet

AMRITSAR: Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) held its first senate meeting of the current academic session on Friday. The meeting was attended by Vice-chancellor Prof Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Registrar KS Kahlon, Prof SS Behl, Dean of academic affairs and members of the senate.

Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) held its first senate meeting of the current academic session on Friday. The meeting was attended by Vice-chancellor Prof Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Registrar KS Kahlon, Prof SS Behl, Dean of academic affairs and members of the senate.

Tarn Taran MLA Dr Dharambir Agnihotri, Jalandhar MLA Pargat Singh and Gurdaspur MLA Barindermeet Singh Pahra attended the meeting as nominees of the state government. The Senate approved proceedings of the previous Syndicate meeting which included starting of new courses at various departments and constituent colleges of the university.

Prof Sandhu highlighted various achievements of the university during the past two years. He also informed Senators about other development programmes, including student-centric activities such as clubs, movies gallery, facilitation centre, upgradation of swimming pool and gymnasium hall, dining halls, repair of washrooms at various hostels and buildings and introduction of various innovative schemes for students, faculty and employees.
