GNDU, Internshala sign MoU for creating jobs

Guru Nanak Dev University and Internshala, Gurugram, have entered an agreement for bringing out more opportunities for students. Internshala is one of the India’s leading internship and training platform. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) will enable students find suitable internships free of cost. Apart from internship opportunities, students can also get counselling and guidance tips as well.

The MoU was inked by Prof KS Kahlon, Registrar of the University, in presence of Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Jaspal Singh Sandhu and other senior officials from both the organisations.

“Internships should be mandatory for students so that they can be equipped with skills before they take up jobs. The programme will sharpen their professional, technical, managerial and communicational skills. Internships would make them industry-ready before they step out of their campuses,” said Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice-Chancellor. He hoped through the partnership with Internshala, students would get easier access to more and meaningful internships.

Internshala is India’s largest internship and training platform with more than four lakh internship listing every year all across streams. Founded in 2010 by a team of IIT and NIT alumni, Internshala helps students to find internships in more than 40,000 organisations that use the platform to hire interns.

Samay Bhatnagar, head, university relations of Internshala, in his message said “The Government of India has identified skill building as a top national priority and it is heartening to see GNDU take concrete steps to improve the employability of our graduates.”

Dr Preet Mohinder Singh Bedi, coordinator, university-industry linkage programme, said as part of this MoU, Internshala with the help of GNDU get all the colleges affiliated under GNDU to register their students on the portal. It will also make all the necessary resources (internships, free applications, counselling and guidance) available to students registered through this partnership. It also aims to showcase success stories of the students landing internship successfully through offline and online media platforms and only this, Internshala will also appoint successful candidates as internship ambassadors.
