The police today registered a case against a youth for his alleged involvement in raping a 23-year-old girl, clicking her pictures and then blackmailing her to send the photos on her in-laws’ WhatsApp numbers.
In her statement to the police, the victim alleged that she came in contact with the suspect, Raman Rana, when she was in the college and had an affair with him.
The victim stated that the suspect also clicked her pictures at that time. He had been exploiting her for the past several months and even blackmailed her while threatening to send her pictures on her in-laws’ WhatsApp numbers.
Perturbed over this, the victim narrated the entire incident to her family members. Later, the victim’s family members lodged an FIR at the Dera Bassi police station.
