Admn ropes in sarpanches to make job fair big success

The administration has constituted special teams to spread awareness regarding “Ghar Ghar Rozgar Yojana” and mobilise maximum number of unemployed youngsters to make use of job fairs scheduled to be held at Raikot and Payal on February 16 and 17, respectively.

Office-bearers and activists of social, religious and constitutional bodies have also been roped in to the event a big success.

Sub divisional magistrates of Payal and Raikot have already begun preparations for the job fairs with intent to provide employment to unemployed youth of the region.

Payal SDM Swati Tiwana and Raikot SDM Dr Himanshu Gupta coordinated with officials and owners of private undertakings for ascertaining their requirement in human resources.

The officials were advised to prepare requisition lists according to skilled and unskilled categories so that maximum number of youngsters could be absorbed in long term jobs.

Tiwana said meetings with prospective employers were held after conducting surveys on the subject. “We did survey for jobs and held meetings with employers from different segments. Thankfully, we got demand for around 1,300 jobs in and around Payal,” she said.

“We convened a meeting of heads of all the departments and constituted teams who will coordinated with residents, including councillors, sarpanches, panches, zila parishad and block samiti members and social organisations for persuading unemployed youth to participate in the rozgar mela,” said Dr Gupta. The officials said the job fairs would be held at SSG Senior Secondary School at Goindwal, Raikot, on February 16 and Government Senior Secondary School for Boys, Payal, on February 17.
