Producer Atul Kasbekar of Neerja and Tumahari Sulu-fame and director Tanuja Chandra, who has directed movies like Sangharsh and Qarib Qarib Single, introduced the film Miss Sloane in the third edition of &Privé HD’s initiative, &Privé Soirée. Prior to the screening of the movie, the two opened up about the influence of Miss Sloane. Despite being a fast-paced and gripping feature, the movie did not meet the expectations from a commercial stand-point.
Tanuja shares, “We do not have a fair number of female-led movies. If we have to say that we have a trend of female-centric movies, there should be at least 50 per cent female-centric movies out of the total movies made every year. It is great that the producers of Miss Sloane added to the scanty pool of female-led movies and they should keep doing it because there are just so few.”
Atul adds, “When female-centric movies and scripts start making money, we can say that female-driven movies’ trend has begun.”
