The Sadar police have booked a notorious gangster and an infamous drug peddler for jumping bail and not appearing before courts. Those booked were identified as Shubham Singh of Nehru Colony and Balwinder Singh, alias Billa Sarpanch, alias Chairman, of Preet Vihar, Airport road. He hails from Hawellian village, infamous for drug peddling.

They were booked after they did not appear before the court after getting bails. Notorious gangster Shubham Singh has been out of the police reach. He was wanted by the police in many criminal cases, including that of a murder, attempt to murder and robberies. He was also wanted for the murder of Hindu leader Vipin Sharma. A fresh case under Section 229-A of the IPC has been registered against him.

Another case was slapped against Billa Sarpanch who jumped bail and did not appear before court in two cases of drug peddling registered in September and October 2013. — TNS
