New Delhi, August 18

Gang of active robbers (Nizam and Rokha) has been busted with the arrest of all the gang members with recovery of jewellery worth Rs 15 lakh, three loaded pistols along with three live cartridges and house breaking equipment, said police.

On August 17, information was received that five-six notorious robber-cum-burglars of Nizam and Rokha gang — who have committed dozens of robberies, burglaries and thefts in many posh areas of Delhi — will be coming to Pushpanjali Enclave via Rani Bagh in an auto along with illegal arms to commit another burglary. Thus, barricades were placed at Anukampa Chowk and all the vehicles coming from Rani Bagh were checked.

At around 12.10 pm, an auto was seen coming from Rani Bagh road. When it came close, the informer identified the auto and passed the signal to the raiding team. Barricades were pulled on the road and the auto was stopped. All the passengers including the driver tried to escape but the police caught hold of them and seized their illegal arms, said DCP (Outer). — TNS
