Samrala police claimed to have busted a gang of two-wheeler thieves and recovered four two-wheelers and four cycles from their possession. Three gang members have also been arrested in this regard.
The accused have been identified as Sandeep Singh Sipa, alias Nepali, and Kulvir Singh, both residents of Shamgarh village, and Ranjit Singh, a resident of Kullewal under the Samrala police station.
Khanna SSP Dhruv Dahiya said under a special campaign against thieves/robbers/drug trafficking and misdemeanors, the Khanna district police had achieved success today.
The police got a tip-off that accused Sandeep Singh and Kulvir Singh were going towards Chandigarh via Otalan bypass for selling the stolen motorcycle, following which they laid a naka near Sua Puli Bondli and arrested them.
During questioning, both accused revealed that their accomplice, Ranjit Singh, was helping them in selling the stolen bikes.
The police recovered two Platina, two Activa, one Aviator, one Duet and four Ranger cycles from their possession. The police said accused Sandeep Singh Nepali had a criminal background. The SSP the accused would be presented in a court for further questioning.
