Gang of robbers busted, 8 held

NAKODAR: The police have busted an inter-district gang of robbers and arrested eight persons near Nakodar on Sunday night.

The police have busted an inter-district gang of robbers and arrested eight persons near Nakodar on Sunday night.

Senior Superintendent of the Police (Rural) Navjot Singh Mahal said the police had recovered several snatched articles, including three motorcycles, sharp weapons and Rs 1.70 lakh from the accused identified as Ravinder Kumar alias Ravi, Sukhjiwan Kumar, Shivam, Jagjiwan Kumar, Harish Kumar, Jatinder, Hardev Kumar and Amarjit, all residents of the Nakodar sub-division.

The SSP said the arrested accused had confessed to their involvement in crimes during interrogation. A case under Sections 379-B, 34 and 402 of the IPC has been registered.
