The youth of the capital nowadays are getting trapped in online casinos which are being run behind curtains at game parlours.

As per a senior Delhi Police officer, nearly half dozen of such gangs operating online casinos have been nabbed here in last few days.

As per sources, people from Delhi-NCR carry out the online casinos via WhatsApp groups and the administrator includes the people in the group to gamble only on recommendation by an existing group member.

Minimum bet starts from Rs 1,000, while many play for bigger amounts as well. According to the source, one can earn profit from 10 to 50 times in a game.

Different places have different type of games and ratio as decided by the operators. There are automatic locks at casino gates, that open only for the people connected with the network.

During the raids on three such places, the police learnt that the online casinos’ operation is carried through a software from outside Delhi — either made in foreign country or Bengaluru. Online IDs and passwords are different for different casinos.

On May 6 in Shakoorpur, six offenders running the online casino behind children's game parlour were arrested. Police unearthed a high profile casino and arrested 36 from Sainik Farm on Oct 23, 2017. On Aug 23, 2017, another casino racket was busted at Fatehpur Beri and 30 persons were arrested.
