MOHALI: Around 15 women will join the driving course started by the local administration on Monday.

Around 15 women will join the driving course started by the local administration on Monday. The aim is to provide self-employment opportunities to unemployed women in Mohali.

Mohali Deputy Commissioner Gurpreet Kaur Sapra said after completing of the course, these women would operate cabs or auto rickshaws and earn their livelihood.

“The three-month course is free of cost and is being imparted at AGCL Technologies, Zirakpur. So far, around 60 persons have enrolled in the course,” said Sapra.

The course has been divided into four phases, which include theory lessons and practical training.

Sapra said the administration would provide all help to these women. — TNS
