Fleeing of Haryana gangster: Rajasthan Police acts against cops

JAIPUR: After armed men helped Haryana-based gangster Vikram Singh, alias Papla, escape from lockup on September 6, Rajasthan Police now have acted against six cops, including a DSP and head constables of Behror police station.

After armed men helped Haryana-based gangster Vikram Singh, alias Papla, escape from lockup on September 6, Rajasthan Police now have acted against six cops, including a DSP and head constables of Behror police station.

The remaining 69 police personnel of Behror police station have been sent to Police Lines. 

DGP Bhupender Singh ordered the termination of service of two head constables—Ramavatar and Vijaypal. He also terminated former circle officer, DSP Janesh Singh Tanwar and SHO Sugan Singh. 

Head constable Sunil and constable Krishna Kumar have been suspended. Circle Officer Ramjilal has been removed and put on Awaiting Posting Order.

For the past four days, the DGP, along with the teams of Special Operations Group (SOG) and Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), has been camping in Alwar district to nab Papla and his accomplices. 

However, the two,Vinod Swami and Kailash, have been arrested and sent by to police remand. 

Of the 15 shooters, who barged into the Behror police station, 10 had been identified, a police officer said. 

Papla’s accomplices were carrying two AK-47 rifles and automatic pistols. They opened fire and helped Papla escape. No cop or staffer was hurt. The incident occurred between 8:30 am and 9 am.
