Five bikes stolen from areas under Division No. 4 police station

Residents are worried as five bikes have been stolen from different areas falling under the Division No. 4 police station. The police registered five separate cases of theft against unidentified persons on Thursday.

Such incidents have been reported during the period between December 26 and January 2. Four bikes were stolen from the residential areas while one from a market.

In his complaint, Jatin of Nanaksar Mohalla, Shimlapuri, told the police that he had parked his motorbike outside his parents-in-law house at Qila Mohalla on January 2. Some unidentified persons stole his bike, he said.

In the second case, a locked bike of Vijay Kumar, a resident of Noorwala Road, was stolen from Partap Bazar, near Nagpal Shoe House, on December 30.

In the third case, thieves managed to take away an Activa scooter of Rohit from Sooda Mohalla, near Purani Sabji Mandi, on December 30. Rohit told the police that he had parked his scooter just outside his house at Sooda Mohalla. When he went outside after 15 minutes, he found his Activa missing.

Two bikes were stolen from a street of Mohalla Fategarh on the night of December 26. Vishal, a resident of street No. 2 of Mohalla Fatehgarh, told the police that his bike was stolen from outside his house. Similarly, Sanjeev Kumar of the street No. 2 of Mohalla Fatehgarh also found that his bike parked outside his house was stolen. Both had parked their bikes outside their houses at night. They learnt about theft of their bikes next morning.

The police have registered a separate case under Section 379 of IPC against unidentified person. The residents have appealed to the police to take immediate action to arrest the suspects.

The station house officer at the Division No. 4 said, “We have arrested some persons regarding theft cases and will give more information on Saturday.”
