Glitter, more shimmer, ethnic or fusion — choices are aplenty when it comes to finding the festive look this season. As we brace up for a number of parties, here are some quick tips.

The clichés are out, experimentation is in. To dazzle this festive season, try something out-of-the-box believes Pooja Shroff, “Display a perfect mix of dhoti pants and studded jackets or crop tops that will make you look traditional yet trendy.”

Comfort factor

As festive season is all about fun and enjoyment, Pankhuri Jain says one should wear something comfortable. There is a wide range, right from sarees to Anarkalis to fusion mixes. “To look most trendy, rather than wrapping the saree around your waist before pleating, you can straight do the pleating and tuck in with a pair of contrast jeggings.” For an edgy look, a pair of flared pants can be worn with a contrast or sequin crop top combined with a pant-matching shrug. “A semi-drapped saree tops the dandia-wear list.”

Nothing looks as graceful as the six-yard, believes Sweta Parekh. Numerous reincarnation of this traditional drape has made this one of the most sought-after attires today. “Create multiple looks by either adding the garment accessories or just changing the drape,” she tips.

Colour code

If you want a dash of glamour and elegance, go for Pria Kataaria Puri’s Santorini collection — a blend of distinctive silhouettes, vivid colours and textural fabrication; celebrate with simple elegance in festive hues of red, blue, black and rose pink. If Western is what you must wear, take Samanth Chauhan’s latest collection as the benchmark. Pastels with detailed ornate work on gowns are sure to make you stand out in the flux of colours.
