Farmers check renovation of sub-canals

ABOHAR: Pursuing transparency in the renovation of sub-canals that feed villages located along the India-Pakistan border, Punjab Pradesh Congress chief Sunil Jakhar has asked the sarpanches and progressive farmers of Abohar to monitor quality of work.

Pursuing transparency in the renovation of sub-canals that feed villages located along the India-Pakistan border, Punjab Pradesh Congress chief Sunil Jakhar has asked the sarpanches and progressive farmers of Abohar to monitor quality of work.

District Youth Congress ex-chief Sandeep Jakhar, Panjkosi sarpanch Om Parkash, Bakayanwala ex-sarpanch Balkar Singh, Balbir Singh Danewalia and other farmers visited the sub-canals in Panjkosi, Danewala Satkosi and Bakayanwala. Irrigation Department Superintending Engineer Harlal Singh Chahal and Executive Engineer Mukhtiar Singh Rana explained them sub-canals are being constructed with a cement concrete system.

Sandeep alleged the SAD-BJP in its tenure had neglected canals’renovation. — OC
