Farm labourer beaten to death

A farm labourer identified as Sukhdev Singh ailas Pappu (50) of Jawanda Kalan village was beaten to death in his native village on Tuesday night.

The Sarhali police have booked three members of a farmer’s family of the same village under Sections 302, 452 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and various sections of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Act.

The cases have been registered on the statement of Nirvail Singh, son of Ajit Singh, who is a nephew of the deceased.

Police said accused have been identified as Satbir Singh, his brother Nirvail Singh and Satbir’s son Balraj Singh.

The accused blamed Sukhdev Singh of stealing their wheat stock. The accused tortured Sukhdev Singh that led to his death at their residence.
