Exhibition ends on hopeful note for budding scientists

A valedictory function marked the successful accomplishment of the two-day CBSE Regional Science Exhibition which was inaugurated on Monday at Kundan Vidya Mandir Civil Lines, by RJ Khanderao, regional director, CBSE Panchkula.

The exhibition was a mega event as 130 schools from Punjab participated under various sub-themes. A panel of 6 judges from various fields of science, holding eminent positions in their respective areas, followed a rigorous process to adjudge the winners from every sub theme.

KVM managing committee chairman VK Goyal was the chief guest today.

The school principal, Navita Puri, lauded the efforts of the CBSE for holding such events.

Mehr Dandiwal, a Class XI student from Mayor World School, Jalandhar, said it was a good experience for them. “After winning second prize in the regional level exhibition, we are looking forward to the national-level exhibition to be held at Noida,” said Mehr Dandiwal and Dav Vrat Chadha, who had prepared the model on using sea water as an energy resource to produce electrical energy.

As many as 24 schools were selected for the national-level exhibition to be held on February 8 and 9, at Mayor World School, Noida. Alliance International School Patiala, Greenland Convent School Ludhiana, Sacred Heart Convent School, Ludhiana selected for Agriculture and organic farming whereas Mayor World School has been selected for Energy and Environment Conversation.

Guru Nanak International School Ludhiana, Swami Sant Dass Public School Jalandhar, DAV International School Amritsar were selected for mathematical modelling. Ivy World, Jalandhar, was selected for robotic arm and Baba Deep Singh Public School Tarn Taran was selected for future city working model. — TNS
