Jammu, October 18

The J& K Government has begun seeking choice of its employees for J&K or Ladakh union territories.

This exercise has been started across the existing state of J&K that includes Ladakh, which will be split into two UTs on October 31.

The government employees of the entire state will also be divided into two parts, as Ladakh will no more be the part of Jammu and Kashmir after October 31.

Apart from the other preparation for the implementation of UT rules in J&K and Ladakh, the state administration has also started bifurcating the status of the government employees, for which it is seeking the choice of the employees for J&K or Ladakh.

Jammu and Kashmir was given the UT status with Legislature and Ladakh was given the UT status without the Legislature on August 5 after abrogation of Article 370 from the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

Amidst tension and communication blockade in Kashmir valley, the administrative officials and their staff remained busy in preparing for the conversion of the state into UT, which is scheduled to be fully implemented in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh on October 31.
