Leadership summit at IIM-Sirmaur

She  said the journey of any professional was filled with ambitious pursuits  and hard work; and one should leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the best is delivered. “True leaders think about others before self and move beyond comfort zones to help communities,” she added. She also narrated the challenges faced while taking up the responsibility of steering IIM-Sirmaur towards a truly world-class management institute.  Sub-theme “Future Skills and Capabilities, International Competitions and Innovations and Grooming and Retaining Top Talent” was deliberated upon at length by various experts. 

Diwali celebrated at APG varsity

Diwali celebrations commenced at APG Shimla University with the lighting of lamp by chief guest Prof RK Choudhary, Vice-Chancellor. Rangoli, face painting, Diwali handicrafts and cuisine competitions were held. The first prize was won by the department of fashion design and management. In face painting, the first prize was bagged jointly by the department of hotel management and civil department. In Diwali handicrafts, the first prize went to the department of fashion design whereas in rangoli, the department of journalism and mass communication and computer science engineering were the winners. 

Dagshai school wins quiz

Army Public School (APS),  Dagshai, won the fourth late Major Uday Singh Memorial All-India Inter-School  Quiz. Eleven teams  participated in the event.  After the preliminary round, six teams, including St Edward’s School, Shimla,  DAV School, New Shimla, DAV, Darlaghat, Army Public School, Ambala, Learning Pathways School, Mohali, and Army Public School, Dagshai, qualified for the main quiz. The competition had nine rounds — general awareness, connect the pictures, heritage, sports business, audio, video, buzzer and rapid fire.  APS, Ambala,  and St Edward’s School, Shimla, bagged the second and third positions, respectively. Chief guest Dr  PK Khosla, Vice-Chancellor, Shoolini University, advised the children to have a dream in their life and  work hard towards its realisation. He appreciated quiz master Ravi Sharma.

Annual function at Jesus and Mary

The annual function of primary school of Convent of Jesus and Mary was held with Dr Rohini Rao (gynaecologist) at Kamla Nehru Hospital, Shimla, being the chief guest. The programme commenced with lighting of the lamp. Tiny tots presented a colourful and vibrant programme, which included a prayer dance and a welcome song. A presentation dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi was appreciated by one and all. Folk dances were also performed by the students. The school’s annual report was also read out.
