School celebrates Janmashtami

Pushp Vatika, a unit of Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar, celebrated Janmashtami with fervour. The entire wing was decorated with paper kites, pots, images of Radha and Krishna. Teachers and students from Shiksha Niketan Secondary School, Gandhi Nagar, also attended the festivities. 

Musical performance marks the event

JK Public School, Kunjwani, organised a musical and dance performances with students taking part in the event. Students of middle wing also gave a performance on the title "Kanha so Ja Zara". Principal SK Singh in his message threw light on the importance of the festival and added that the thought of Gita was based on karma, which meant to be true to ourselves.

Fancy dress contest by tiny tots

Flower Kids School, Talab Tillo, also celebrated the festival with great zeal. Keshav Chopra, a social worker, was the chief guest. A fancy dress competition for nursery class was also held. Principal Vijay Lakshmi spoke about the importance of the day. Coordinator of the school Pooja Sharma, teachers Nidhi, Sheetal Sharma, Neha, Twinkle, Anjali and dance teacher Sunil also spoke on the occasion..

Play depicts Krishna's birth  

Lord Mahavira Playway School, Shiv Nagar, celebrated Janmashtami on the school premises. Principal Neeraja Handoo explained the significance of the festival to students. On the occasion, a small play on the birth of Krishna was performed by the students. Chairman of the school Surinder Sharma congratulated the students for presenting a wonderful programme.

Students perform dandiya

Students of Tiny Tots School held Janmashtami celebrations on the school premises on Friday. The students of junior school dressed as Radha and Krisha performed "dandiya". Principal of the school Veena Handa congratulated students for their dance performance.

School holds cultural programme 

RM Public School organised a cultural programme to celebrate Janmashtami. Students of various classes participated in cultural items. Corporator of Sainik Colony Gurmeet Randhawa was the chief guest on the occasion.

Dance on Radha-Krishna theme  

Cambridge International School, Purkhoo Camp, Domana, also celebrated Janmashtami with great enthusiasm. The celebration started with the lighting of the lamp by Principal Abhishek Sharma. Students of Classes III and VII presented a dance on Radha and Krishna theme followed by melodious songs. The programme was concluded by 'dahi handi' and 'matki phorh' by teachers and children. 

Festival celebrated with zeal 

Dewan Devi Playway/ Higher Secondary School celebrated the festival with great enthusiasm. Krishna's swing was beautifully decorated. Students clad in Radha and Lord Krishna dresses participated in various cultural programmes. Breaking of 'dahi handi' competition was also held. Workshop on curriculum reforms ends 

 A five-day workshop on "Curriculum Reforms" organised by the Department of Zoology, University of Jammu, under RUSA scheme (Phase II) on the theme "updating and restructuring course curriculum for Master Degree Programme in Zoology" concluded here on Friday. A formal vote of thanks was presented by Prof Seema Langer.
