The birth anniversary of Lord Krishna was celebrated by students and staff members of Shiksha Niketan School, Gandhi Nagar, with enthusiasm. The little angels beautifully dressed up as Lord Krishna and Radha and welcomed Principal Rameshwar Mengi. Bhajans were recited followed by presentation of a cultural programme. Tableaus of Lord Krishna and Radha were displayed by the students of Classes 3 and 4. 

Plantation drive  

The School of Life Sciences, Central University of Jammu (CUJ), in association with the state forest department and Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Samba, on Thursday organised a plantation drive on its campus. The drive was inaugurated by Prof Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor, who was the chief guest. He underscored the importance of developing a sense of ownership and responsibility towards one’s institution, society and nature. He encouraged the School of Life Sciences to augment the CUJ Biodiversity Park with indigenous trees and flora.

Lab inaugurated 

The Yognanda College of Enginering and Technology (YCET) today inaugurated internet of things (IOT) lab on the college premises. It was inaugurated by Arun Gupta, Territory Manager, Voltas Ltd, in the presence of dignitaries. Gupta also interacted with students and guided them the importance of time management. He focused on prioritising tasks and the importance of making a to-do list every day. 

Admission counselling

The counselling of students for admission at the School of Sciences, Cluster University of Jammu (CLUJ), will be held from August 27 to 29 at GGM Science College. A notification in this regard has been issued by the varsity recently to students who had qualified the entrance test for the academic session 2019-20. 

Green campaign 

The annual tree plantation drive took place at Maharaja Hari Singh Agricultural Collegiate School, Nagbani, today. Every monsoon, the school celebrates a van mahotsav by planting saplings.  Around 100 saplings were planted on the school premises under the supervision of Principal Sween Puri. The drive sensitised children on environmental duties. 

Fancy dress competition

Delhi Public School (DPS), Nagbani, held a fancy dress competition. Students from Pre-Primary Wing cheerfully showcased their talent by dressing up as different professionals. The show concluded with the encouraging words of the school administration coordinator, Harshita Singh.
