Principal resumes duty after HC relief

New Delhi, December 14

Dyal Singh College (morning) Principal Prof IS Bakshi, who was barred from entering the college premises on the orders of governing body (GB) chairperson Amitabh Sinha, on Friday resumed office after the Delhi High Court (HC) granted relief to him.

"The court stays order dated September 24, 2018, of the chairman.... Cosequently, my office has been de-sealed and I have resumed my duties today evening," Prof Bakshi said.

Prof Bakshi had sought the court’s intervention in the matter challenging Sinha’s orders asking him to proceed on leave in the backdrop of an administrative tussle between the morning college principal and the GB chairperson.

The principal had accused Sinha, a BJP leader and a lawyer, of victimising him for not toeing his line calling the latter's orders against him “illegal”. — TNS
