Hisar MP Dushyant Chautala has accused Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar of favouring a builder in Sector 16 of Gurugram by providing connectivity to a commercial project with the NH 8.
He shared this RTI information with the media here on Monday.
“A green belt of the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) lay between the builder’s land and the NH 8. To connect the two, permission was required. The state government took the initiative and got the permission in 2015. And what was the reason cited for this? Public interest,” said the MP, a leader of the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP).
He showed documents sought under the RTI Act to prove his point. “The Executive Engineer, HSVP, Division No III, Gurugram, sought the permission from the NHAI for connecting a road that led to the commercial project with the NH 8. With this, the value of the project doubled.”
“The CAG report of 2017 states that land equal to the land provided for a road should be acquired from the builder. But the government ignored this. A total of 4,930 sq m was to be taken from the builder. As per the land cost in Gurugram, it amounted to Rs160 crore,” he said, adding the CM had approved the project, as per the RTI information.
Rajiv Jain, media adviser to the CM, couldn’t be contacted in spite of repeated attempts.
When asked why MLAs owing allegiance to the JJP have not resigned from the INLD, Dushyant said: “Our MLAs are not attending INLD functions. They will not resign. They are people’s representatives. It doesn’t matter where they sit in the Assembly. They will continue to flag people’s issues.”
On Abhay Chuatala’s allegation that Ajay had sold tickets during the 2014 Assembly elections, the Hisar MP said, “Abhay Chautala is not a serious politician. He is frustrated. Have you ever heard him criticising the BJP? He is working as a BJP agent.”
When contacted, INLD spokesperson Praveen Atray said, “Dushyant’s remarks are immature. He should remember that his uncle had contributed more to his political career than his father.”
