Drug racket busted, one held with 1.5 kg heroin

The Counter-Intelligence Wing, Jalandhar, and the Moga Police have busted an interstate drug racket and seized 1.5-kg heroin procured by Delhi-based smuggler from Kot Isse Khan village from Darjeeling-based drug supplier.

The accused has been identified as Ritesh Gurung (27) of Mirik village, Darjeeling, who was presently staying in Delhi.

Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh, AIG, Counter-Intelligence, Jalandhar, said a case under the NDPS Act was registered. The smuggler would be produced before the magistrate and his police remand would be sought to further investion. — TNS
