Dr Vikash Chhabra, president of the district unit of Indian Medical Association (IMA), received the best IMA president award in the state. He received the award from state Health Minister Brahm Mohindra during the annual IMA conference held in Patiala.
The award was conferred after evaluating the works of 64 branches of the IMA in the state. The major evaluation parameters include active participation in IMA activities both at the state and national levels, improving the doctor-patient relationship while rendering quality medical services.
Elated after being honoured with the best president award by the IMA, Dr Chhabra said, “This award is the outcome of joint efforts of the Bathinda IMA team. I am grateful to the team members for extending support and standing rock solid with decisions whenever needed.”
Talking about the activities carried out during the year, Dr Chhabra said, “The Bathinda IMA branch participated at the state and national level protests/conventions against the implementation of NMC Bill. A number of CMEs, awareness rallies, medical conferences and workshops were organised at the district and regional level. Moreover, there was specific emphasis on organising cultural activities and sports events throughout the year.”
