Among the list of 40 services covered by the Delhi government’s recently launched Doorstep Delivery Scheme caste certificate and driving licence are the top two services sought by callers on 1076.
The Transport and Revenue happen to be the most sought after departments of the scheme. “The services which are more in demand are income certificate, changes in RC, water connection, mutation and registration of marriage, to name a few, apart from caste and driving licence,” said an official.
While the transport has received 1,156 requests, the Revenue Department has got 1,127 requests till 1 pm today since the launch of the programme. The break-up of the other departments: Food and Civil Supplies has 540 requests, 252 requests have reached Social Welfare, SC/ST Welfare received 120 requests, Delhi Jal Board’s has received 111 applications and so on.
Over 300 applicants register online
The scheme is garnering a massive response going by the number of people who are approaching the government for any of the listed services.
More than 300 have already registered for the scheme through website today till 3 pm, said an official.
Such has been the response that some people also contacted to book for the services which are yet to be started. Seeing the response, the back-end system, phone lines and operators have been stepped up manifold and the doorstep delivery team had visited as many as 372 households.
