Jammu, April 16
The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Tuesday sensitised its employees against joining or participating in any activity of the unlawful associations like the Jamaat-e-Islami and Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front.
The government late tonight issued a circular saying the employees should be made aware of the Ministry of Home Affairs notifications declaring the JeI and JKLF as unlawful associations and, accordingly, these would be liable for action to be taken against them if they happened to take part in any of the activities of these associations.
The Jammu and Kashmir (Home Department) has issued the required notifications to give effect to the notifications of the Central Government and authorised district magistrates and police officers to take the necessary action in this regard. The order says consequent to the above, association or participation, direct or indirect, of any government employee with the said unlawful associations ie JeI or JKLF (Mohd Yasin Malik faction), shall attract the provisions of the Jammu and Kashmir Government Employees (Conduct) Rules, 1971. And in this regard, all government employees should desist from associating, directly or indirectly, with the above unlawful associations in any manner whatsoever and those associated, if any, directly or indirectly, are advised to dissociate themselves forthwith, failing which there will be administrative consequences.
