A city-based doctor has been awarded Bharat Jyoti Award (Glory of India Award) by the India International Friendship Society (IIFS) for his contribution to the field of science.
Dr Saurabh Gupta, plastic surgeon, assistant professor at Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, has been awarded the award for his meritorious services, outstanding performance and remarkable role in the field of plastic surgery. The award, instituted by the India International Friendship Society (IIFS), is given to those who specialises in areas of science and technology, education, industry, engineering, fine arts, politics and social work and their outstanding services in these fields.
Dr Gupta received the award from Dr Shekhar Dutt, former Governor of Chhattisgarh, at a seminar on Economic Growth and National Integration held in New Delhi on December 4.
