Divyansh, Gursimran guide St Joseph’s to 134-run win

Divyansh Lalotra and Gursimran Singh hammered a half-century each to help hosts St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, register a 134-run win over ANM Warriors, Mohali, in a Sub-Junior Challenger Trophy match here on Monday.

Lalotra smashed a 38-ball 78, while Gursimran cracked 75 off 52 balls as the hosts scored 212/5 in 20 overs after electing to bat. The duo also stitched a 155-run partnership for the third wicket. 

Harnoor Singh and Kanav claimed two wickets apiece. 

In reply, Warriors could only manage 78/6 in the allotted overs. Harnoor made 33, while Jashnoor contributed 11 runs to the chase. 

For St Joseph’s, Adhiraj and Aditya claimed two wickets apiece, while Tavish accounted for one wicket. 

In the second match of the day, Vivek High School, Sector 38, beat Sunrise XI, Zirakpur, by 115 runs. 

Opting to bat, Vivek High School scored 205/2 in 20 overs, with Arjun Singh hitting an unbeaten 93. Lavya made 30, while Abhisar chipped in with 21 runs. For Sunrise XI, Sohan and Charlie claimed a wicket each.

Needing to score 10.30 runs per over for victory, Sunrise XI could only manage 90/8 in the allotted overs. Manan claimed three wickets, while Arjun Singh and Aditya took two wickets each. — TNS
