Depressed, woman jumps to death from 7th floor in G’gram

GURUGRAM: A 22-year-old woman, a DU graduate, jumped to death from her drawing room’s window on the seventh floor of Central Park-I society on Golf Course Road last night.

A 22-year-old woman, a DU graduate, jumped to death from her drawing room’s window on the seventh floor of Central Park-I society on Golf Course Road last night.

The victim was identified as Sarina Mehta and was supposed to attend her convocation and receive her degree today. Her family claimed that she was depressed. According to the police, the victim’s father lives in the US while she stays with her mother here.

Late last night, she first allegedly slit her wrist and then, jumped out of the window. Her mother informed security and rushed her to Paras Hospital where she was proclaimed dead. The police said that neighbours said that the woman was mentally disturbed and her treatment was going on. The case of divorce of her parents is pending in court.

“No suicide note was found from the spot. We handed over the body to the kin after the post-mortem examination today,” said inspector Jagbir Singh, SHO of Sushant Lok police station.
