Amritsar, April 15

The Education Department has asked district authorities to address fear, if any, in the minds of teachers regarding the admission of students from private schools to government schools. They have also asked the authorities to ensure more admissions.

The teachers fear that they will be held accountable by the department, if the students fail to perform, under the method of teaching.

However, the department has expressed their faith in abilities of teachers and stated that with help of learning outcomes, the students will be able to manage their studies. Ashwani Awasthi, president, Democratic Teachers Front, said, “This is a good move. All of us want more admissions in government schools. We also want good infrastructure.” Recently, 121 students from private school took admission in GGSSS Jandiala under the ‘each one bring one’ drive carried out by the department to enhance admission into private schools. — TNS
