Chamba, January 11

The Chamba Welfare Association has expressed resentment over the delay in the issuance of a notification with regard to the withdrawal of continuous increase in water tariff in the state every year.

In a joint statement issued here on Friday, association president RK Mahajan and general secretary SK Kashmiri said despite the announcement made by Irrigation and Public Health (IPH) Minister Mahender Singh Thakur on the withdrawal of hike in drinking water rates, the notification to this effect had not been issued. Expressing gratitude to the minister for his decision to withdraw the anti-public water tariff hike, association office-bearers urged him to direct the authorities to issue the notification. — OC
