Daler Mehendi honoured at Golden Temple

AMRITSAR: Popular singer Daler Mehndi visited the Golden Temple on Saturday. He has released a Gurbani shabad — Guru Nanak Aaya — ahead of the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev.

Popular singer Daler Mehndi visited the Golden Temple on Saturday. He has released a Gurbani shabad — Guru Nanak Aaya — ahead of the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev.

The ‘Bolo Tarara’ fame singer has composed the music for the shabad. The shabad was released on January 1. He was honoured with a siropa (robe of honour) by SGPC chief Gobind Singh Longowal. Speaking with mediapersons, Mehendi said he was working on the project for long. “It was my heartfelt emotion that made me come up with it,” he said.
