Cyclist dies in hit-and-run

CHANDIGARH: In a hit-and-run case, a cyclist was killed after being hit by a speeding Swift car. According to the police, complainant Dilbar reported that the car driver sped away after hitting the cyclist near the motor market in Sector 48 on April 28.

In a hit-and-run case, a cyclist was killed after being hit by a speeding Swift car. According to the police, complainant Dilbar reported that the car driver sped away after hitting the cyclist near the motor market in Sector 48 on April 28.

The victim, Simon, a resident of Jagatpura village in Mohali district, was seriously injured and admitted to the GMCH-32. 

 He was referred to the PGI where he succumbed to his injuries. The police said the complainant had provided the registration number of the Swift car.

A case under Sections 279, 337 and 304-A of the IPC has been registered against the car driver.  — TNS
