New Delhi, February 8

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president Sheila Dikshit today demanded that the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi should provide immediate compensation to the farmers to bail them out from their crop losses caused by hailstorms.

She said realising the difficult condition of the farmers, the government should give sufficient compensation to them, as the farmers are looking towards the Delhi government with much expectation to bail them out of their present plight.

Dikshit said rains and hailstorms had inflicted heavy losses to the farmers of Delhi who have suffered extensive damage to their rabi crop.

She said this when a delegation of Delhi farmers, under the leadership of Dr Naresh Kumar, met Dikshit and explained the plight of the farmers to her. — TNS
