The court of Judicial Magistrate (first class) Ambika Sharma has summoned prominent trader Kulwinder Singh and three others in connection with a murder bid case. The case pertains to a “murderous” assault on Tej Karan Singh, son of Gurmeet Singh, president of the Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh Youth Front. He was allegedly attacked by unidentified persons near his residence over two years ago.

Though Bablu, in his statement to the police, suspected the role of the trader, but the city police failed to take any action against him, stating that the matter was suspicious and later gave a report that no such incident had taken place. He filed a complaint with the court in November 2016 while alleging that the police had worked under the influence of the suspects, who were very rich and influential.

Acting on the orders, the court observed that the evidence placed on record was sufficient to find prime facie case against the suspects and fixed July 20 as the next date of hearing.

On the other hand, Kulwinder termed the allegations false while alleging that the complainant was misleading the court. He said after the completion of a probe, the police had registered a case against the complainant for misleading the police and the matter was pending in the court at present. He said another case of outraging a woman’s modesty was registered against them while Tej Karan spent sometime in jail for that. He said though he has not received any summon in this connection, he will file appropriate reply.
