Cop killed in Ambala to get martyr status

The district police have recommended martyr status for ASI Suresh Kumar, who was shot dead in Naraingarh on June 2.

On the direction of Ambala Police Commissioner Alok Kumar Rai, the district police sent a file recommending martyr status for the slain cop to DGP Manoj Yadava. The ASI was deputed on security for Rambir, an eyewitness in the murder case of JBT teacher Session Kumar Judge. The police had announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh for providing information about the accused, but no arrest had been made yet.
