Jammu, August 17

J&K Pradesh Congress Committee chief GA Mir on Friday cautioned the people against the “divisive policies” being propagated by the PDP and the BJP to hoodwink the masses.

Addressing a meeting of prominent leaders and delegates from the Inderwal and Kishtwar Assembly segments, Mir pointed out that the two erstwhile coalition partners had betrayed the people of Kashmir and Jammu regions.

“While the BJP cheated the residents of the Jammu region, the PDP betrayed the people of the Kashmir valley,” Mir said, adding that despite having diametrically opposite ideologies, both the parties had stitched an alliance just for the sake of power.

“The two parties had divided the people on regional and religious lines and vitiated the overall social and secular atmosphere besides failure to deal with the security environment, which led to a state of political uncertainty,” he said.
