Congress, BSP leaders join BJP in Ambala

AMBALA: Senior Ambala City and district-level leaders of the Congress and the BSP joined the ruling BJP here today. The president of Ambala City Youth Congress, Mukesh Dhiman Shanti, along with his team of office-bearers joined the BJP in the presence of local MLA Aseem Goel.

Senior Ambala City and district-level leaders of the Congress and the BSP joined the ruling BJP here today.

The president of Ambala City Youth Congress, Mukesh Dhiman Shanti, along with his team of office-bearers joined the BJP in the presence of local MLA Aseem Goel. Besides, the district in-charge of the BSP, Hakam Singh, along with his team members joined the ruling party.

Goel welcomed the opposition leaders into the party fold. He assured them of all respect and exhorted them to work hard selflessly.

Besides Mukesh Dhiman Shanti, others Congress leaders who joined the BJP are Ambala City Congress general secretary Sandeep Singh, secretaries Deepu Rana, Varinder, Jamaludin, and Nitin Dhiman, former sarpanch Sushil Kumar, nambardar Pal Singh, Yashvir, Gurvinder Singh, Suresh, Munish Kumar, Rajat Saini, Tinu, Gurdit Singh, Lakhveer Singh, Rajat Kumar, Bittu, Happy, Vikas Sharma, Rahul, Jassi Bajwa, Param, Karan Saini, Amit Kumar, Gaurav Bali and Twinkle Bajaj.

Besides district BSP in-charge Hakam Singh, Rajpal, Ramesh Kumar, Janak Nath, Chajju Singh, Raj Kumar and Mahendra Singh switched sides. The Youth Congress and BSP leaders said they joined the BJP because they were impressed with the working of the local MLA and the programmes and policies of the state government. — TNS
