The state government and the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Wednesday announced to attend the events organised by each other at Sultanpur Lodhi and Dera Baba Nanak.

During the session, Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh urged all political parties to celebrate the mega event in a befitting manner. He also requested former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to commemorate this momentous occasion on a common platform, rising above petty political considerations.

Cabinet Minister Charanjit Singh Channi urged the SAD and the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) with “folded hands” to join the events organised by the government to give a message of unity. Channi also assured that state government representatives would also join the celebrations organised by the SGPC.

While Badal lauded the government for holding the special session for the commemoration of 550th Parkash Purb, Akali MLA Bikram Majithia assured the treasury benches that all party MLAs would join the events organised by the state.
