Former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal visited Jalalabad and Fazilka segments to address election rallies of his son Sukhbir Singh Badal.

While addressing gathering in Jalalabad, Badal said the Congress had betrayed the people of Punjab as it gave only a lame state of Punjab to the Punjabis, even without a capital. The states were carved out on basis of languages. The Punjab speaking areas of neighbouring state Haryana, including Sirsa district and some areas spread even up to Ambala, were not transferred to Punjab, alleged Badal.

He claimed that only Sukhbir could carry out development of border area. Badal also try to woo the voters belonging to the Rai Sikh community by praising them that they were guarding the borders of the country sharing the boundaries with Pakistan.

The former Chief Minister said the rule of the country should be given in the hands of an experienced and stable leader like Prime Minister Narendra Modi and not a novice like Rahul Gandhi. What Modi did in five years, the Congress could not do it in 50 years, claimed Badal.

He condemned military attack on the Golden Temple by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
