On family’s demand, road in Sangrur village to be named after Fatehvir

SANGRUR: Conceding to the request of Bhaghwanpura villagers of Sangrur and the family of the deceased, Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amrinder Singh has given approval to name the Sunam Sheron Kainchian to Shero Longowal road after two-year-old boy Fatehvir Singh.

Conceding to the request of Bhaghwanpura villagers of Sangrur and the family of the deceased, Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amrinder Singh has given approval to name the Sunam Sheron Kainchian to Shero Longowal road after two-year-old boy Fatehvir Singh, who lost his life in a borewell tragedy, a couple of days ago.

Vijay Inder Singla, PWD Minister Punjab, accompanied by Ghanshyam Thori, Deputy Commissioner Sangrur, president District Congress Committee Rajinder Singh Raja and Daman Bajwa paid a visit to the family on behalf of the chief minister.

Expressing solidarity with the family, they assured all support and help to them.

They apprised them that accepting the request of the family and giving due honour to the untimely demise of the little soul, the state government has agreed to name the said road after him.

This is Other District Road (ODR-01) with an approximate length of 11.83 km and is being widened from 5.50 meters to 7.0 metres under CRF scheme.

Later, Singla informed that a written request in this context was made to the state government by the family of the deceased, through the office of Deputy Commissioner, Sangrur.
