Thousands of youth who have applied for the posts of constable online have found their candidature rejected due to a computer glitch. The affected applicants today met Kangra Superintendent of Police Santosh Patial and later Inspector General of Police Atul Fulzele.
Rahul Thakur, one of the applicants, alleged that despite having applied and deposited the fee online for the post, he was shocked to find out that his candidature was rejected for not depositing the fee. “I have the proofs that show the fee of Rs 145 was deposited online, and it was accepted too. I do not know why my application has been rejected,” wondered Thakur.
Aditya Koundal, another candidate, said if the police department didn’t do anything in this regard, the affected candidates would be left with no option but to move court.
