Comedy a favourite with the audience

Mistaken identity peppered with a love triangle in a madcap comedy is what Naukar Vahuti Da promises to be. A story that would see veteran actor Jaswinder Bhalla share screen with Binnu Dhillon and Kulraj Randhawa. 

“Comedy remains a favourite with the audience, actor, directors, producers and everyone surely like to play safe,” shares Jaswinder Bhalla. Three decades in the industry, he has tickled the funny bone first through Chhankata, a series of audio cassettes before establishing self as the frontrunner in Pollywood comedy scene.  How has the field changed since he began? “Earlier it were the jokes that were popular, it’s been the time of situational comedies,” shares Bhalla who has continued to be part of Punjabi films starting from Mahaul Theek Hai, Jatt and Juliet to Carry On Jatta. All this while, he has also continued to work at Punjab Agricultural University, “I love be in the service of the culture and agriculture equally,” says he. And much of his preparation, he credits to college and university stages, “It was in youth festivals that I found my calling.”

Dhillon ne kala coat aiven ni paya is one the many dialogues that has popularised him in Pollywood, and Naukar Vahuti Da is going to be another rib-tickling comedy, he vouches. “Directed by Smeep Kang, Naukar Vahuti Da also has Gurpreet Ghuggi and Upasna Singh, so get ready to be entertained.” 

Proud father

Jaswinder Bhalla is a proud father as his son Pukhraj Bhalla steps into Pollywood. Does the father in him get worried? “Not really. Pukhraj has education to back him and his innings in films are appreciated.” He makes a special mention of Yaar Jigree Kasooti Degree, a Punjabi we series that won many a hearts. “I am proud to share he bagged a lead role on his own merit and would soon be seen in Teriyan Meriyan Hera Pheriyan.”
