Colony maps cleared with ‘fake signatures’

The executive officer of the local Municipal Council has written to the SHO of the Sadar police station, requesting him to probe a matter in which some persons allegedly got mapsof a colony at Jandpur village sanctioned by using fake signatures of civic body officials.

The executive officer of the local Municipal Council has written to the SHO of the Sadar police station, requesting him to probe a matter in which some persons allegedly got maps of a colony at Jandpur village sanctioned by using fake signatures of civic body officials. 

The village comes under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Council, Kharar. 

Rajesh Sharma, executive officer, Municipal Council, Kharar, also asked the SHO take necessary action against the culprits in this regard. 

According to information, the matter was brought to the notice of the executive officer by president of the Municipal Employees’ Union Bhagwant Singh and secretary Mahesh Chander. 

They wrote to the executive officer that two maps passed in 2015 and 2016 were brought to the MC by an employee of a bank for verification. 

When the building branch of the civic body examined the record, officials found that these maps were not passed by them, they added. 

They said the signatures of various officers on these maps were found to be fake. According to them, as a result, the council had suffered a huge financial loss. They urged the executive officer to take steps in this matter. 

Rajesh Sharma said he had already written to the police to probe the matter. He said whosoever was responsible, action should be taken against him.
