Ludhiana: Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women, Gujarkhan Campus, Model Town, bid adieu to the students of the postgraduate department of commerce. A cultural fiesta comprising songs and dances captured the attention of the audience. A beauty pageant in which 30 students participated was the highlight of the event. Amanpreet Kaur was crowned Miss Farewell, wheile Jasmine and Manpreet Kaur were adjudged the first and second runners-up, respectively.

Activity on social issues held

The sociology department of Government College for Girls organised a class activity on various social problems. The president of sociology department, Jaspreet Kaur, welcomed the chief guest for the occasion, Savita Sharma, principal of the college. A play depicting the past and present status of the Indian society was staged by the students. Prizes were also distributed to the subject toppers and executive members of the department.

project  for visually impaired

Rotaract Club of Malwa Central College of Education for Women, in collaboration with Rotaract Club of Ludhiana North (Community), has undertaken a project “Donate for Blinds” with the motivation of Dr Naginder Kaur, principal-cum-patron of the club. The aim of the project was to collect money to assist the Empowerment Association for Blinds, Punjab, and to start a skill development programme for blind children of the region to equip them with professional skills. Dr Naginder handed over the demand draft of Rs 12000 to Pargat Singh Masih, coordinator, Empowerment Association for Blinds, on the behalf of both the clubs.

GHG Khalsa College students shine

Students of GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar, have brought laurels to the college by bagging university positions in Sem-V examinations. Prabhjot Kaur, final year student of BBA secured 12th position at the university level, while, Prabhjot, Harman and Harleen have bagged the first, second and third positions, respectively at the college level.
