Ludhiana: PCTE Group of Institutes held a marathon “Run close to nature” on the occasion of 70th Republic Day. Around 200 people from different walks of life participated in the event with full zeal and enthusiasm. The marathon was divided in to three categories, inlcuding 3 km, 6 km and 12 km and commenced from the PCTE campus. Winners were honoured with medals and certificates.

SDP College for Women 

More than 5,000 students of SDP institutions marched with national flags on Republic Day. Balraj Bhasin, president, SDP Sabha, was the chief guest on the occasion. He hoisted the national flag on the occasion. Students presented a cultural and patriotic feast to commemorate contributions of legendary heroes. Patriotic songs, folk dances, giddha and bhangra added a splash of colours to the celebrations.

Govt College for Girls

Students and staff of Government College for Girls, Ludhiana, celebrated 70th Republic Day with great zeal. Savita Sharma, officiating principal of the college, unfurled the national flag. She spoke on the importance of the Republic Day and sensitised students to work in unity for the development and progress of the country.

College of Engg and Technology

Ludhiana College of Engineering and Technology, Katani Kalan, celebrated 70th Republic Day. The event included declamation contest, bhangra, solo dance and poetry, among others. The function commenced with a bhangra. Harjit Singh, Captain, Indian hockey team, was the chief guest. Parvinder Singh Harmanpreet Singh and Gurtej Singh, also members of the hockey team were the guest of honour. Harjit motivated the students to work hard and excel in life. He said discipline, dedication and determination leads to success. Later, LCET  chairman VK Gupta extended greetings to the students and college staff. TNS.
