Festive spirit of Lohri

Lohri was celebrated at Green Grove Public School with a lot of exuberance and fanfare. To add more charm to the festival, school president JPS Jolly marked his presence along with the school chairperson Satinderjeet Kaur Jolly and Principal S George and vice-principal Ronald. Jujhar (V B ), Ranveer (VI A) and Jasmeen (VII B) gave speeches highlighting the importance of the festival of Lohri.

Lohri was celebrated at Green Grove Public School with a lot of exuberance and fanfare. To add more charm to the festival, school president JPS Jolly marked his presence along with the school chairperson Satinderjeet Kaur Jolly and Principal S George and vice-principal Ronald. Jujhar (V B ), Ranveer (VI A)  and Jasmeen (VII B) gave speeches highlighting the importance of the festival of Lohri. A bonfire was lit and dances, melodious songs were presented  by students. Students from Nursery to class XII participated in the celebrations, presenting a colourful programme. Peanuts and rewari were also distributed among the students. The main attraction of the function was the vibrant Bhangra performances by boys and girls. 

Manav Rachna School  

Lohri was celebrated at Manav Rachna International School, Ludhiana on January 11 on the school premises. The mood on the campus was upbeat and the students were totally absorbed in the festive spirit of Lohri. The function started with a special assembly followed by speeches in English and Punjabi highlighting the importance of the festival of Lohri, which ushers in the cheerful spring season bidding adieu to the dull winter. The colourful programme included poems, folk song and dance depicting the significance of the festival. The students and teachers celebrated this festival together by singing  songs and tapping their feet to the beat of the dhol immersed in rich cultural folklore of Punjab. Groundnuts and popcorns. were also distributed among the students. The school principal Rupali Saini lit the sacred bonfire to initiate the celebrations, congratulating all and dwelled on the importance of such festivals.

Lohri was celebrated by the tiny tots of here with great fervour. In very tastefully decorated background, students and teachers dressed in ethnic attires danced to the beats of Punjabi folk songs with great zeal. Bonfire was lighted and kids sat around it with teachers, enjoying groundnuts, popcorns and rabri. Sweets were shared with one another by children. Professor VK Mehta, The executive director of the school, said in his message that parents should celebrate the Lohri of girl child with same zeal and joy as that of male child.

Gurpurb celebrated

 The 352th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Gobind Singh was celebrated on January 12  at Sant Ishar SinghJi Memorial Public School, Karamsar (Rara Sahib) with great enthusiasm. The celebration began with shabad, ‘Gur ki Bani, Gobind Ki Bani’, The students narrated stories related to the life of Sri Guru Gobind Singh. The students of Classes III and IV recited a poem. Shabad Kirtan was also performed by boys and girls who filled the essence of Naam Ras in the heart of audience. The school campus reverberated with devotional shabads. Jaswinder Kaur delivered a speech based on the life of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. In the end, principal Dhiraj Kumar Thapliyal wished everyone on the occasion. TNS
