Capitol Hospital and BBC Heart Care jointly organised a CME programme, ‘Capitol Summit-2019’ under the aegis of the Punjab Medical Council here today.
The CME was an update review on the killer quartet of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, renal disorders and cancer. Dr Rajesh Kumar Bagga, Civil Surgeon, was the chief guest. Dr Harnoor Singh Pruthi, director, Medical, Capitol Hospital, delivered the inaugural address and deliberated on key objective of the event.
Dr (Maj Gen) Charanjit Singh, director, cardiac sciences, BBC Heart Care, highlighted the present paradigm of large disease burden by cardio-metabolic, cardio-renal aliments along with cancer.
Dr Ranga Rao Rangaraju, sr medical director, Max Superspeciality Hospital, New Delhi, said ‘Combined modility treament (surgery, chemo, immuno, radiotherapy) should be given.
Dr AK Dewan, director, Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institution, New Delhi, also highlighted cancer. The CME was attended by members of the Punjab Medical Council. A large number of doctors from the state and adjoining states took part in the event.
Experts from elite institutions of the country such as PGIMER, Chandigarh; Applo Hospital,New Delhi; Max Super Specialty Hospital, New Delhi; Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute, New Delhi; and Army Hospital Research and Referral, New Delhi; were the speakers for the CME.
