There seems to be no end to the controversies surrounding Minerva Punjab FC. In the latest incident, William Opoku has accused the club of “cheating and ill treating” players.

“They (Minerva) are not serious people. They just stress you with video section. No good rest and they want you to play good football. They think football is played by mouth or something like Yo-Yo test,” Opoku wrote in his farewell message for Yu Kuboki on Instagram.

Japanese attacking midfielder Kuboki, who joined Minerva last year, spent most of his time on

the sidelines following a serious knee injury and was released by the club recently.

“You are very good player. But Minerva only treat players anyhow and in my whole life I have never seen a team like Minerva. They cheat players and treat them anyhow. They cut your salary and tell you to go through Yo-Yo test!!!,” Opoku posted on his unverified Instagram account.

Meanwhile, the Minerva FC management was unavailable for a comment.

A few days ago, Minerva had decided to relieve coach Paul Munster and sources confirmed that foreign players like Lancine Toure, Bala Al Hassan Dahi and Opoku were also on the verge of getting released by the club.
